What is doming?
Doming applies a clear, raised resin over a printed design, giving it a glossy, three-dimensional finish. The resin self-levels into a smooth dome and then cures hard and clear, so your design sits beneath a protective lens of resin.
The effect is eye-catching and high-end. The dome lifts the design off the surface, adds a slight magnifying look, and protects the print underneath at the same time.
How does doming work?
The process is simple but it needs a little patience:
- 1Print the design. Your design is printed in full colour onto a label or substrate.
- 2Apply the resin. A clear resin is applied over the top.
- 3It self-levels. The resin self-levels into a smooth, raised dome.
- 4Cures hard. It cures and hardens into a clear, glossy, durable finish.
- 5Apply to your product. The finished domed label or badge is applied to your product.
